Oi Soi Oi’s bamboo furniture is produced by Mr. Xuyen and his family.
80 years ago his grandparents started a small bamboo production in Bac Ninh province – a 2 hour drive from Hanoi.
Today Xuyen is the driving force in the workshop but still his grandmother, now nearly 100 years old, sits on the terrace
to overlook it all.
Until 2004 the workshop only supplied the local market but today its 30 employees also produce to Europe.
At Oi Soi Oi we just love bamboo because it’s strong and sustainable – a form of grass but as strong as wood
